sorry I didn't post yesterday, but it was Caity's birthday. She turned 4. we celebrated with McDonalds happy meals and then home for chocolate cake ("yah, cuz it's MY BIRTHDAY"). Needless to say Caity never let us forget.

Today I'm still on a sugar rush from the halloween candy AND the B-day cake. I'll come down off the roof in a few hours.....hopefully LOL.

Tracy, Bohon for McDonald works. Snyder is way to high in the points standings to get him for LaBeth. Possible trades for LaBeth are Manes, Hill, Richardson, Jones, Jacoby and Paguioto.

Ok, am I missing something here. Don't alternates get in only if someone gets hurt during the event? I finally found the riders that have qualified and they list 41 since Dirteater is already hurt. My understanding is that Robinson will not ride in the first round for sure.

Guess I'll trade Billy Robinson away and pick up Thiago Paguioto for team JAG for the Finals.

Yep... That was me (and the miss'es) cheering on Joann's riders at Mohegan. Sure.. Like she needed that help this year! Nice job being on top for so long. Doesn't look like you're going to let anyone catch you with that team!

Oh well... Going to be in the 60's here tomorrow.. Maybe I'll just go play some golf.

Just wonderin' if anyone has an update on the Custer household. Stacey hasn't updated her site since March. Guess she stays too busy with her family going 5 different places at once----- I see Jim Bob will be a judge at the finals but Cody wasn't mentioned.
Safe trips to all going to the finals. Here's to a great finals with NO (or only Minor) injuries.

Last time I heard from Stacey, a couple of months ago, she said that everyone is doing really well and they are extremely busy with many activities. The move to Oklahoma was a big change but it worked out fine. The kids and doing lots of sports and rodeos. Cody is concentrating on his youth ministries and has more or less given Todd Pierce the PBR Outreach for the current riders, etc., which allows Cody the time he needs. Cody doesn't do any judging or anything for the PBR anymore.

I don't know if they will be at the Finals this year. We sat with them there last year and they were just as young and vibrant as ever.

Will let you know if/when I get any updates.

The best way to check on the Custer household is through Facebook. Both Cody and Stacey have their own pages. Many of the riders have pages, as well as PBR staff members. Stock contractors and sponsors as well!! Check it out. Cody and Rob Smets actually post daily!!!! Very spiritual. Love it!!

Looks like the PBR switched from the top 45 to the top 40 when I wasn't looking. So for the finals any one 40 or below in the points standings will be considered equal. So if your cowboy didn't get in you can choose between Hill, Manes, Richardson, Jones and I think Jacoby will be there to replace Dirteater. Also you could pick Thiago Paguioto.

This is your last chance to improve your team before the finals. You can trade one cowboy that is at the event and any that aren't at the event. Also you can trade any that get hurt after the first weekend before the second weekend.

I hate it that Ryan D. was injured right befor the finals. The fact is I hate to see any rider injured. It really stinks that he made it through the entire year just to have an injury take him out for a whole other year. However, Thats the gamble they take. That's the fickle friend that bull riding (and rodeo in general)is. It will boost you up only so far befor it knocks you down a few rungs. I do wish Ryan D. a speedy recovery and lots and lots of TRY.

Good grief, I'm not able to pop on the ol' 'puter for a couple of days and we get swamped in spam!
UUUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!

SO, unfortunately because of that, I had to turn up the security a bit again. Sorry if this causes an inconvenience to anybody, but without it the spammers just have a field day

Will try to get some news posted tonight or in the morning.

And all this time I just thought those were some kind of special coded messages you were sending us :)

I knew that once you saw them it'd be "D" to the rescue!!

What terrible news about Ryan Dirteater. We knew it was bad when it happened but sure was hoping for some better outcome than it ended up. All we can do is send out our prayers.

Thanks again for clearing up those spammers. They sure are annoying.

Hi Darlynne, sure is good to see some rodeo news on the BS! I'm headed to Vegas on 4 November 2009, staying at the Gold Coast, still love their seats! Section 106 can't hardly be beat! Glad to hear that you and your family have found a church that you like and glad to hear that all is well. Keep sending us the news!!

I still think that Marchi could be the first back to back champion. But, after saying that, I also think that whichever of the top 3 doesn't falter at the Finals will end up with the buckle. It might just come down to if one of them rides just 1 or 2 more than the others.

Had a fun weekend here in Connecticut with the PBR for 3 events. But I wish we weren't the last stop. Seems like we've been missing out on having a really good set of bulls the last years because they probably are resting them for the Finals. Can't complain about some we had here, like "All In", "Choc Chip", etc., but the Friday and Sat nights were not impressive at all.

Hated to see Ryan Dirteater get hurt. You could just see the disappointment on his face when they carried him out because I'm sure he knew it was bad and he would miss the Finals.

Is there any better story than Zack Brown coming back from that really bad injury a few years ago to win 4 events this year?! He doesn't get the press like JB, etc., but he's sure got the talent and drive.

Hope you don't mind if I kind of "vent" here... Again, just like past years, there were way too many open seats. I can only think that this is because the casino gives out "comp" tickets to the gamblers who spent enough $$ and most of those people aren't PBR fans. Example: Friday night a guy came up to us and gave us 2 tickets he had been "comped" because he had no interest in going but had taken the tickets anyway. Fortunately we were able to get a couple of family members to come down at the last minute. Also, on Sunday, there were 12-15 seats in the row in front of us that were empty. These are lower level, in what I thought was "fan club" seating. I find it hard to belive that any fan's who spend $50+ per ticket are going to leave those seats unused. Saw the same thing at quite a few different areas in the arena. The frustating thing is that when I went online Saturday, to see if I could get another couple of tickets, the only thing available were way up in the 2nd level. It just seems like this is one area that needs to be addressed by the PBR. I understand allowing the casino to give out seats but why should a fan (and I'll just use me as an example) who buys tickets every year, have to sit behind (ie; further away from the floor) than "comp" ticket seats which are rarely used. Now I admit out seats were fine (4th row) but what about others who are Fan Club members but were sitting 20 or more rows up? Anyway, just some thoughts. Anyone else run into this sort of thing at events? Maybe it's just the casino events where this happens. Thanks for letting me shout about it.

Sure is good to see updates and "winks and grins" from "D" back on the sheet. Will miss going to the Finals this year but don't mind taking the break from Las Vegas. I'm beginning to feel alot like Rob Smetts said to me one year.... "This place just wears me out".

JAG

Hi Dar... Gosh I've missed you. Glad to see you back at the reins. Having that said. What can I say about the PBR, I don't geez maybe I would like to get to see them on my TV instead having to go to PBR site to find out what happen. Yup, I'm one of those folks who got caught in the Direct TV vs Versus fight. Going to the finals blind, as I can't really say one or the other whether it's going to be a good one or not. I agree with JAG possible for Marchi (sorry for the spelling). I think he's worked for it. Stil have my hopes for Cody L. Time will tell.

It's disappointing as a fan of good people that Stran Smith won't be in Vegas. It's also strange that after 32 consecutive runs, Guy Allen won't be competing at the Clem McSpadden National Finals Steer Roping.

As for the PBR, it's great that Cord McCoy is back in the mix. I'd love for him to have a tremendous finals.

Facebook tidbit on Stran Smith -- Darlynne (Good Morning), Wed, Oct 14 2009, 6:20:57 (207-119-181-134.dyn.centurytel.net/207.119.181.134)

Thought some of you might like to get this little spot of news posted by Facebook user "Wrangler NFR 2009"

For fans of Stran Smith: Stran needed success in Waco to move up and make the top 15 for NFR. Tonight was his first run and he had a good 9.0 sec go....BUT... his calf got up. He's about $5K behind. He has one more calf tomorrow and he cou...ld get $2200 for first but then he'd have to qualify for semifinal round to win more and that's doubtful with a no time tonight.

Can I just say that I absolutely love facebook. It's great finding little tid bits of news like this. Though I'm not the best tweeter, I do use twitter to keep up on whats going on in rodeo too. Admittedly I don't quite get the concept of tweeting, but if it leads to more info so be it.

Ted: probably won't get up to KC this time. This is Bransons down time and hours get cut pretty drastically untill right befor Thanksgiving. So we have to really squeeze our budget this time of the year. Plus we have quite a few things going on with our Saddle club that will keep us close to home as well. I'll be looking for those articles though.

I'll try to get some other stuff up later this morning.
God Bless

Hey there "D"... Great to see you back on here so much.. Also nice to read about your camping for St. Jude trip.. Sounds like a great time..

Maybe you will wake us up and get some discussions going again here on the Bsheet. I know that Joann has trouble trying to access it from her computer for some reason. I don't really have an excuse except that now that I'm retired I seem to be more busy around home than when I was working.

Looking forward to the PBR coming to Connecticut next weekend. Love to take the granddaughters and watch them take in the action. Our 4 year old has been talking about it for months. Says she can't wait to "see them boys try to stay on those bulls"! Even got her pink cowboy boots (just like older sister) for her birthday a couple of weeks ago. I know the PBR has it's problems (been watching and reading about the Direct TV / Versus fight) but it's still great to have something where we take the whole family of 3 generations and enjoy it.

As far as this years race... I just really wouldn't be surprised to see the first repeat champion this year. I know Kody has, and will probably continue to, ride great. And JB has the drive. But there's just something about Marchi that I wouldn't bet against.

Anyway, glad to see you on here so much. Hope you can continue to find the time and give us a little kick in the butt to post here more often.

Best to you and the whole family!

I agree, it sure isn't like it used to be. Glad to see you back posting at least.

Everybody knows I'm not a JB fan so of the 3 top guys I'd say Guilhermi might win. Sure wish Chris could win again.

Looks like this might be Mike White's last season to ride and Chris Shivers won't be long behind him. I think they are about the last of the "oldies". Good grief, who'd ever have thought of Chris being an 'oldie'. I remember when he was the only one in Vegas that was TOO YOUNG to go to the casinos.

It's even hard to keep up with the bulls anymore. They seem to change more often than they used to. Remember when we even picked a bull for our team?

Hello all. I use to post on here a lot, but things have just been all over the place. I hope it's OK to post this here. I was a heavy collector of rodeo memerobilia for a long time and PBR stuff esp. I'm getting ready to make a move and I'm going to let go of a lot of stuff to make it easier. I have poker chips (Lane Redrock, Tuff, Bodacious, Jim Sharp, Donnie Gay...lots) magazines some of the original, some finals programs and all sorts of things. If you are interested in any of it, thought I'd throw it out there for the hardcore fans before I do ebay. Contact me @ sheepiedogcap@yahoo.com.

Thanks, and peace to all.

PBR WORLD FINALS TICKETS -- John Garrett, Mon, Sep 28 2009, 18:51:16 (75-166-39-1.hlrn.qwest.net/75.166.39.1)

I have 2 tickets to each performance for the PBR World Finals in Las Vegas for the 5th thru the 8th of November. We are unable to attend and would hate to see the seats go unfilled. I only want the face value of the tickets which would be $688 for all 4 performances. I will not split the ticket and only sell 1 or 2 days, they go as a set.

The Weekend -- Darlynne (hugs), Mon, Sep 14 2009, 7:46:56 (75-121-70-2.dyn.centurytel.net/75.121.70.2)

This last weekend the Taney County (MO.) Saddle club hosted our first Saddle up for St. Jude Trail Ride and Camp out. Those of us who participated gathered sponsors for a few weeks befor hand in order to raise money for St. Jude. We also held an auction and BBQ on Saturday night that was open to anybody who wanted to come, and many did. I'm glad to say that we raise about $2500 at the auction/bbq alone. We haven't counted up all the sponsorships yet.
Friday we started checking folks in at noon. a member of the club extended the use of his land for the camping. This worked well, as his land borders the Mark Twain Nat'l Forest. This allowed us to ride in the forest, but camp on private land, so we didn't have to obtain special camping permits. Friday night we had chilli and corn bread. It was sort of a day to get settled in.
Saturday morning was cool and clear. We treated everybody to a pancake breakfast and plenty of good ol "cowboy" coffee. Then it was time for the first of our two planned trail rides of the day. This was the longest of the two. A twelve mile ride, that looped through Mark Twain. The trees are starting to turn for Autumns show, and it made the ride a little more special. After the ride, a hour or two to relax befor the next ride and then to get ready for the auction and BBQ. We had lots of folks come in just for that event. We auctioned off everything from Gift certificates, and horse products, to bicycles and home decore. after the BBQ we had a band come in. they did alot of older country music, like Hank Williams, Hank Snow, Patsy Cline. It was a great time. Admittedly though, my family went back to camp during the music, as the girls were just itching to roast marshmallows. We invited the other kids to come over as well. Where our camp was we could hear the music just fine, and it made for a real nice evening. A nice fire, a cool kiss of autumn in the air, great music..A night to remember. Sunday morning Broke with a chill wind and the agitated winnies of more than one horse. A coyote had sauntered around the outskirts of the camp, and the smell of it had the horses speaking their warnings. The cool air also had the horses and mules feeling good. They had a spunk in their step and many kicked up their heels for the joy of the morning. We were blessed with a great Sunday Morning service with Pastor Jody Stanley of the New Hope Baptist Church. The weather had turned overcast, and threatened rain, but praise God, it held off. There was time for one last short trail ride, and it felt good to be on horseback riding through beautifull country and a chill wind at your back. It almost took you back in time. After the Ride, it was time to break camp. Our personal camps were first. and just in time for those of us who had tents. As the clouds finally decided to lighten their loads. Nothing heavy Thankfully, but a nice steady, easy rain. After our personal camps, it was time to break down the base camp and then the cook camp where our big meeting tent was for the auction, BBQ, and church service.
It was truly a great time and we hope to do it again next year...And we hope you all will join us.

BTW. forgot to tell a funny story. a little prank that someone pulled on a few of us. Someone placed a garden hoot owl in one of the outhouses. You know the owls that are made to place in your garden and when something moves by it, it's eyes light up and it hoots loudly. Try stumbling to the outhouse in the wee hours befor sun up. Groggy and half asleep, you open the door only to find two glowing eyes staring at you and a loud screech. Needless to say, it got my, and a few others blood pumping. All in fun though, all in fun.

Have a great day everybody, and be blessed

howdy -- Darlynne (hugs), Sat, Sep 05 2009, 12:57:01 (207-119-173-179.dyn.centurytel.net/207.119.173.179)

Howdy all, hope you are having a great and safe Labor Day Weekend.

Well, we've lost "VS" on our DirectTV. Does dish TV carry VS? Or Cable? We'll be switching if they do.

I want to extend my thanks to everybody who has sponsored me so far for the St. Jude trail ride this next weekend. Every dollar helps, and every dollar is whole heartedly appreciated. Ryan, I and a few others in the Taney Co. Saddle Club will be heading out Thursday to set up areas for the barbecue, auction, and live entertainment on Saturday. As well as Cowboy church on Sunday We're hoping it dries out a bit. We have a chance of rain just about every other day this week, and recieved two and a half inches of rain last night alone. We'll be holding the event rain or shine, but admittedly would rather not be slogging around in rain *LOL*.
I've been busy getting things ready here at our house. the tents are packed. sleeping bags rolled, and I'm about to hit the grocery for things like marshmallows, taters, and other good ol' camp out food. Taylor insists that I must bring a radio...to help them with the fact that they won't have a TV I emagine ;-).
Well, anyway that's what's going on around here. Thanks again to everybody and if you'd like to check the sponsorships progress or if you'd like to sponsor me check out www.mystjudesaddleup.org/users/darlynne.
God bless everybody. Be safe
Dar.

I just found out we may loose versus channel on direct tv.
If we do no more bull riding. I just sent a e-mail to Direct Tv and a phone call also. If I understand the rep we may not get it after Sept. 1st. I sure hope this does not happen...

My Blatant request... -- Darlynne (waving at and hugging friends), Wed, Aug 19 2009, 11:43:02 (d6-183.rb.gh.centurytel.net/69.29.197.183)

Hey all. Thought I'd pop on for one of my rare appearances. Hope everyone is doing well. I'm hoping to make it to the PBR in Springfield Sept 19. It's not a sure thing yet though as we have been quite busy lately. For instance the the weekend befor that (Sept 11,12,13) Ryan, the girls and I (along w/ the Taney County Saddle Club) will be attending our first Saddle Up for St.Judes trail ride and camp. And the weekend befor that we will be out "setting up" for the said event.

A couple weekends ago Taylor took first place in her class at the Tri-County Youth Horse Show. She is becoming quite the little horsewomen.
Taylor started school this last Monday. She's happy not to be home all the time now LOL. In all honesty, I did a little happy dance as soon as theschool bus was out of sight.

Caity is growing little by little. She is always the instegator in any argument she has with her sister. The funny/sad thing is that she'll be laughing the whole time she is argueing. She knows just what she is doing...and she'll "push button" as long as she can. I feel sorry for our litter of 6 wk old kittens. Caity doesn't leave them alone for more than a few seconds at a time. She thinks all four of them belong on her lap...ALWAYS.

Ryan and I are plugging along. We FINALLY found a church near us that we like. We've tried so many that I've lost count. I'm not fond of "mega churches" and that seems to be what every church strives to be around here. Some of the smaller ones we tried, we found that we just didn't quite "fit in". We weren't looking for a cowboy church (though one would have been nice) just one that preached more of the word and less of denominations.

Well, that's about all for our little family. Hope you folks have a great day.

OOPS, about my blatant request. I'm looking for sponsors for the trail ride. !!IF!! you would like to look into it go to.

The B'Sheet isn't the same without you around more often. Hope you keep us up to date with a few more posts. I just know that Woody is watching down and beaming with pride over those girls. Best to you all.

Hi JAG, Actually, unless you are seeing different pics than I am, The pictures on that sight are not Tay and Caity. I tried to upload some pics onto the sight, but they didn't show. However, I am hoping to get some pics during the trail ride/camp out and will try to post them here along with an update of what happened.
