I have 31 " John Appleby's " in my Family History . The only one that is close to that date is :

John Appleby born 16 Jan 1785 at Sunderland, County Durham, Yorkshire, England. He had eight brothers and sistors. His parents were Robert Appleby and Jane Galley married on 24 Sep 1770 at Sunderland, County Durham, Yorkshire, England.
