Im new to south carolina and have tried to reach the directors through email a couple of times and had no luck, any insight would help. Im trying to decide if I would have enough time to compete considering i just found out im pregnant. Please help

Subject: Local Crowns

In our state we get a banner but have to purchase a local crown if we want one. I see no problem with that since we were appointed a title instead of actually competing in and winning our local title. I am just curious as to how many of you go ahead and purchase your local crowns. How does this work in your state? [ Post a Reply to This Message ]

I think this is new this year in some states. I was an 09 contestant and we only got a local banner. There was no crown to purchase with your local title. I wouldn't bother spending the extra money. You will have PLENTY of wardrobe expenses that the money could be better spent on for your state competition. (NT) -- 09 gal, 07:12:41 11/08/09 Sun We purchased our local crowns, and I am glad we did. They were not that expensive and we wore them alot. So it was not a waste of money. Now with that being said you should find out if any other locals title holders have purchased or will purchase them, because in oreder to stay uniform you would all need to have purchased them in order to wear them at group appearences. -- State title holder 2010, 10:08:19 11/08/09 Sun It is totally optional. Our director leaves it up to us. It helps when seeking sponsorship as well. If you intend to make many appearances with your local title before state, I highly recommend spending the money! The director in our state had a crazy mark-up on them, and with what I was spending already to compete, I just did it that way and saved $35. But I did wear it to everything. Subject: Huy said he would design around 150 ao dai each for the semi-round and the finals of Mrs. Vietnam 2009 and Mrs. World 2010. At the semi-final round of Mrs. Vietnam 2009 in HCM City, contestants will wear reformed ao dai. In the finals, they will be supplied with traditional ao dai, which are designed based on the characteristics of each region in Vietnam.

I am so thrilled to compete in this pageant - I think about it all the time - several times a day. I feel like a little girl waiting for Christmas morning even though I know it is far away. I was just curious to know what other married women out there are thinking. Are you this charged to compete. Are you thinking of questions/exercising/ volunteering on a daily basis. Or, is this more of something you think about once a month or so. Just curious to see what othe State Delegates for 2010 are thinking. I can't wait for this pageant year to kick off in November! I bet you will have a lot of returnees from last year since they have those local titles to promote and anyone signing on new this year does not. That would be a huge advantage in interview.
