Subject: Re: gastroschesis

My daughter was born with gastroschesis, i found out at 14 weeks of pegnancy, i was scared throughout the whole thing as well. She is now 20 months old, eats everything in sight and has no side effects from the defect. She just has umbilical surgery repair in January. She doesnt have a belly button either, just a huge scar where her belly button should be and it bothered me at first and i wanted a plastic surgeon to repair it but then i figured that she should enbrace being different because being different is not necessarily bad. It just means that your special and went through a huge ordeal, it's her battle scar. And someday when she asks me why she doesnt look like everyone else, I'll say that everyone is different and different is good.
