Little is known about John Applebee, except that he married Ann Gould as you state. However, in 1820 John and Ann were removed by the overseers of the poor from the parish of Clifford Chambers to the parish of Hampton Lucy. Then his wife and children were supported by the parish for several years. He was almost certainly dead by 1829 as his widow married Daniel Hall at Snitterfield in 1829, but no burial has yet been found for John. I think he was probably buried at Hampton Lucy, but the burial records for this period are missing so there is no proof. Joseph emigrated to Australia in 1839 with his mother and step- father.
