Subject: Appleby's from Wylam/Crawcrook to the USA

Hi

I have recently found out that two of my relatives left the UK via Liverpool to live in the USA. One was called Edward Appleby(dob 1899)born in Wylam, Northumberland England, who stayed in the US, and the other was Stanley Appleby (no dob) born in Crawcrook, near Newcastle upon Tyne, England, who went on up to Canada. They travelled together.

They went to work in the mines - their relatives were all coal miners.

I have checked the website that has passenger records, but although there are tons of Appleby's, alas none with these names.

My guess is that they travelled between 1919 and 1925.

I understand that Stanley went on to be a teacher (or perhaps his Canadian wife did - we are not sure).

I guess I am hoping that someone who reads this forum knows of relatives from Wylam/Crawcrook in England.

Kind regards

Paul Appleby
