It may be you have already had a response to your enquiry on this forum.
If not I felt I should respond to your enquiry to say that very sadly Mr Appleby died in the mid 1980s.
I'm afraid I have little other information than that, but felt I should let you know after reading your message above.
It may be that you have already had answers to your question. I would suggest possibly the local church of St Mary Magdalene may be able to help you further.
