Since last posting,I have found out that Thomas Alfonse was the son of Thomas Appelbe. My family is from Pgh.PA.USA. Thomas and James came with their father Thomas to Pittsburgh early part of 17Cen. They were involved in glass
making Appelbe&Hale. James wife Ellen (Keylay)o.IRE is listed in cencus 1850. Her children,John, Thomas, Eliza,Louisa and James. James died in Pgh 1823,leaving Ellen with the five. John the oldest must have been born 1808-09. James 1823 is our direct line he married Elizebeth Sweeney 1844 they had 7 children, Frank Barnes the youngest b.1859 d.1936,his father died same year he was born. He was a railroad Engineer for B&O RR. His oldest son John Maurice Appelbe was my grandfather. Thank you for this space &Time.
