I have traced my fathers family back to Yeldersley, my Grt Grt grandfather edward B. abt 1847 lived in Yeldersley, moved to Kirk Langley and married Emma Bull of Kirk Langley in 1866 I think. I have traced several Appleby's to the area of Ashbourne / Kirk Langley. It may be that your James could be connected, in the 1851 cencus for Ashbourne there are 4 James's shown together.
