I am the great-granddaughter of Peter Appleby (born Hampton,Kings Co. NB in 1832.)I think his father was John Appleby (1807-1851). Peter's oldest son John was my grandfather and his four younger half brothers (2 sets of twins) were John Edwin, Benj. H, William, and Jesse Earl. I don't know if Peter had any other siblings. He was living with his widowed step-mother and four little brothers in the Hampton Parish, KIngs Co., NB in the 1851 census.

I am wondering if my family is connected to the Appleby of New Jersey because of the common names--Benjamin, John, and Peter. Family stories have it that one of my ancestors was a Benjamin Appleby but I have no proof or history of my great-grandfather's early family.
