Subject: Applebys of New Brunswick

Hi!
My gtgtgrandparents were Annie Lenore Appleby & Harding Elsworth. They were married in Saint John,NB in 1856. Annie was the daughter of John, son of Peter. I am trying to verify if Peter was son of UEL Benjamin Appleby & his wife Sarah VanPelt or of UEL Peter & the relationship between the UEL Applebys (who apparently were * in number). I have marriage record for Benjamin & Sarah in NY, but am wondering if Benjamin is related to the Applebys of Schraalenbuerg,Bergen Co.,NJ. An LDS file includes birth records for Applebys whose names match those of the UELs but there seems to be a suggestion that Benjamin was from NY.
I'm very interested in getting in touch with other NB,NJ,NY Applebys in hopes of sorting this out properly.
It is also quite likely that Annie had siblings, but I have only her thus far.
The Applebys of Saint John were involved in shipbuilding. Benjamin is believed to have also had a shipyard on the Kennebecasis. I have ordered a CD which includes records on ships & seafarers of Atlantic Canada, so am hoping this will help to clarify how they fit together!
